Soapstone - Wood Stove manufacturers
Soapstone is a perfect stove material, it has the capacity to retain twice as much heat per pound as iron or steel; radiates heat steadily, even hours after the fire has died down; and the warm grain and color make the woodstoves attractive pieces of furniture that one can enjoy year round.

Most of the soapstone wood stoves present in the market, have metal inserts surrounded by 30mm soapstone. Some companies use 60 mm soapstone but also use the metal inserts. The inserts are used to provide maximum output of heat available. These are very cost efficient because of the ability to radiate the warmth for a long time.

Inspite of being high in price, they provide best heat output for very little fuel cost. This makes the stove to pay for itself within a small amount of time. They are not as good as the soapstone masonry heater, but are the next best thing.
